After a meal I like to sit and talk with my grandson. The light coming in the window behind me this day was perfect and I couldn't resist taking some shots of him. I had several but the eye to camera connection on this one was perfect.
"I'm not a bee"Shot with my 105mm Sigma macro lens in Manual mode as well as manual focus. F/10 1/640 sec ISo 320I went out hoping to capture a macro shot of a bee... I sat by my rose bushes but only seemed to have this little guy as a visitor. I finally caved in and let him/her have thier moment in front of my lens. It sat very curious watching me for quite some time. It allowed me to alter my position to capture some colors in the background that I felt would really help highlight his shimmer. Again, definetly NOT a bee... but it was fun to try and capture anyways :). Now to figure out Extention Tubes so I can get the eye details one day as well 😛
I found this at McRae Point Provincial Park when were camping there last weekend. Ontario Canada
Skipper Feeds YellowBarely half an inch across, these skippers are all over the yellow flowers in my backyard. Taken with the Sony A7rii and SEL90M28g macro lens.
I'm ready for Fall! I found this golden flower in the woods. the background is of a thick tree trunk in the distance. I thought the dark background with the golden sun (Which was really just other flowers in the distance :P) beaming down gave off a nice Fall vibe.. Even though everything here is still very much GREEN and alive :).I did add some texture to the background to give it a little more grungy mood. But... I wasn't sure if I should clone out the flowers on the bottom or leave them?! I left them but they do kind of distract me.Not trying to make this post wordy :). But I discovered I am not a "Summer" Shooter! I don't know what it is but something about summer had me put my camera up on the shelf and leave it there all through June and July :o. Once the kiddo's went back to school.. I went out shooting all day *shrug*. I missed a month of the photo contest (and my 365 project)... but back at it again ;)!

Trellised vineI want to begin with small apology, because I am not entirely sure about the correct name of what I took a shot at (in English that is, I know how we call it in Bulgarian, but in English I am not so sure). So if someone knows - please share this knowledge with me...I pushed the trigger on that one because I spend almost 1 hour tying it up to a wooden pole - the vine is new - planted last year by me. I saw this tie and how it was leading to the fresh new leaves of the vine so I wanted to try some nice bokeh. Me personally - I love the end result, although some nasty websites (like 500px) say that there is some noise or dust... I believe they refer to the middle right part where there are parts from the tie, but this was the tie - it is made from such material and looks like that - scattered. So I cloned out some of it, but not much. Other than that no serious processing is done. Just some cropping. I think there is a lack of focus, but I kind like it like that - dreamy. Makes me dream about if next year it will produce grapes. Taken with Nikon D7200 with Kit lens - 18-140 mm.
As long as there are flowers nearby during these hot summer days, I need not have to go far especially with all these wildfires in Southern California. Taken with the Sony A7rii and SEL90M28g lens at ISO2000, f5.6 and 1/1000s. — in Santa Ana, California.
