Editing Challenge Explanation and Rules

 

  • The editing challenge will be held on a bi-weekly basis.

    • Entrants will have seven (7) days to get their submissions in, leaving another seven (7) days for judging. (The photo will be posted on Sunday, and entrants will have until the following Saturday at midnight EST for submission.)

  • Judges will consist of:

    • Mike Howard

    • Gina Parry

    • Nikki Nisly

    • Gordon Rufh

    • Tim Kemperly

    • Danielle Foster

    • Debi Henry

  • Categories of judging:

    • Technical (blown highlights, out of gamut etc)

    • Emotion

    • Composition

    • Creativity

    • Overall

  • All judging is subjective to the judges's point of view.

  • Winner will be announced in the group and on the fan page two Saturdays after the photo was posted.

 

Entries:

 

  • Entrant may edit the image however they see fit, excluding any vulgarity or illegal activities.

    • May include other components such as textures or other images but editor must have permission to use the components. Any violation found will disqualify the entry.

  • Edited image may not contain any watermark from the editor.

  • Edited image must be uploaded to the challenge folder or via our web form (http://www.jpeg2raw....ting-challenge/) by midnight on the Saturday after the challenge photo was posted (dates will be given each time the challenge is posted).

    • When uploaded, the editor must include what programs were used to edit the image, any additional information about the editing is optional.

  • Entrant may only submit one final edited version of the image.

  • Entrants may not submit images edited by another party/person. Edited images may only be considered an entry when edited by the person uploading in to the challenge album. Any entries found to be edited by another party/person will be disqualified from the challenge.

  • Photographer retains the copyright to the image but agrees to allow editing of the image solely for the purpose of entry into the contest. Editor agrees that he/she will not share the image outside of the group or fan page for any purpose without obtaining permission from the photographer. Photographer and Editor grants jpeg2RAW the right to post the original and final image on our Facebook Group, Facebook Page, the Podcast, other social sites used by jpeg2RAW and our website.  In each use, photo credit will be given to photographer and editor.
